The criterion that matters: taking part, not watching
Before comparing prices, ask one question: does everyone actually do something? A guided tour where twelve people follow an umbrella creates no shared memory. A workshop where everyone has their hands on a shaker does. That’s the difference between an activity you sit through and one you’re still talking about two years later.

Workshops and tastings

Wine or cava tasting — the calm, quality option, ideal for a hen weekend that would rather talk than shout. Cava also works as a half-day trip to the Penedès, 45 minutes from the city.
Sea and outdoors
Sunset catamaran — two hours offshore with drinks and music. Objectively expensive per hour, but it’s the photo the group keeps. Book early from April to September: Saturday slots go weeks ahead.
Kayaking or paddleboarding at Barceloneta or on the Costa Brava — for sporty groups and early risers. Cheap, and the water wakes everyone up.
Beach volleyball and a day at the beach — free, flexible, and honestly enough for many groups in summer. Don’t underestimate a good day at Barceloneta.
Bikes or the giant beer bike — the most efficient way to see the city while laughing. The beer bike (that pedal-powered bar on wheels) is highly visible, highly photogenic, and increasingly regulated by the city council: check your operator is properly licensed.
Adrenaline and competition
Karting — unbeatable for generating rivalry within a group. Tracks are outside the city, so factor in transport.
Paintball or laser tag — an absolute stag classic, effective, provided you’re fine with bruises at dinner.
Escape room or treasure hunt in the Gothic Quarter — the best option when the group doesn’t all know each other: teams mix people and break the ice within twenty minutes.
Flamenco — take a beginner’s class rather than watching a show. Laughing at yourselves together does more for a group than an hour sitting in the dark.

Three classic traps
The all-inclusive stag package. Sold as convenience, it’s really a bundle of standardised, high-margin activities, often at venues that exist purely for that trade. Booking two activities yourself costs less and is far better.
Booking three activities in one day. It’s the enthusiastic organiser’s instinct and the most common mistake. One activity on Saturday afternoon, maybe one on Sunday morning. That’s it.
Not telling the operator it’s a stag or hen do. Say so when booking: most will adapt the format, and some simply refuse groups that turn up unannounced.
