Three days is the ideal format to taste the essentials of Barcelona without rushing. Here’s our tried-and-tested itinerary.
Day 1 — The historic heart
Start with the Gothic Quarter and the cathedral, wander down the Ramblas and stop at the Boqueria market. In the afternoon, head to El Born and the Picasso Museum.
Day 2 — Modernism
Spend the morning at the Sagrada Família (book early!), then head up to Park Güell. In the evening, a tapas tour in Gràcia.
Day 3 — Sea and views
Relax at Barceloneta, enjoy a seafood lunch, then spend the afternoon on Montjuïc hill for the gardens and the view.
Tip: buy skip-the-line tickets in advance for the major sites — you’ll save hours.
